Hortense Vincent Parker, 93, of Zellwood, Florida, passed away Tuesday, November 04, 2014. She was born January 06, 1921 in Zellwood, FL. Mrs. Parker worked for the postal service. She is survived by her daughter Katherine Rice of Astatula; grandchildren Cyndi Volz, Salt Springs, Jeff Parker, Fruitland Park, Cheryl Mullen, Eustis, Rachel Sarro, Deland, Jessica Anderson, Deland, Jeremy Rice, Astatula, Allen Rice, Astatula; 15 Great Grandchildren;2 Great Great Grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Zellwood Methodist Friendship Circle, 5538 Jones Avenue, Zellwood, Florida 32798.
This heritage started 67 years ago with Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, who founded the First Baptist Church of Daytona Beach, Florida, in 1934. In 1938 Francis E. Loomis, son of Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, received his license to practice Mortuary Science and in 1941 established Loomis Funeral Home of Winter Garden, FL.

So sorry to hear of Hortense's passing. My mom Inez Hensinger was her table mate at Bridgewater until she died last December and she so enjoyed her company. Always pleasant and happy. Our family sends our sympathy for your loss and pray that you will always find joy in fond memories of Hortense.
