Pedro Legrand, 97, of Apopka, Florida, passed away Thursday, October 23, 2014. He was born April 14, 1917 in Vieques, Puerto Rico. Mr. Legrand was a Carpenter. He is survived by his children Pedro Legrand, Jr. of Altamonte Springs, Jose A. Legrand of Deltona, Benjamin Legrand, of St. Croix, Mary L. Marr of Maitland; sister Olga Carrasquillo of Puerto Rico; 30 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren.
This heritage started 67 years ago with Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, who founded the First Baptist Church of Daytona Beach, Florida, in 1934. In 1938 Francis E. Loomis, son of Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, received his license to practice Mortuary Science and in 1941 established Loomis Funeral Home of Winter Garden, FL.
