In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to one of the following organizations that were important to him:
Be the Match: Steve was a big believer in organ and blood donation. One of his nephews is alive today because of work of Be the Match Registry. Whether you decide to resister as a potential donor or make a monetary contribution, you could help save a life.
Chromosome 18 Registry: Steve chose this charity because of his four year old grandson Elliott who was diagnosed with 18p syndrome. Steve was one of Elliott's biggest cheerleaders for every hurdle he faced, whether it was a new milestone or another surgery. The registry is based in Texas and conducts ongoing research to better support children and adults with chromosome 18 related syndromes.

we all miss this wonderful man who gave so much to so many. He was an anchor in the ballroom dance community. Steve and Joanie started the Dance Club of Central Florida and a ballroom where I took my first lessons from Carl Free about 15 years ago. He literally touched thousands of people's lives in the Dance Community. Steve and Joanie also hosted canoe trips, Christmas Dinner Dances and picnics for the Dance Club. Since we were both Boy Scouts, we both had a love for the outdoors. When Steve and Joanie would East Coast Swing dance, I would always stop dancing to watch them, not just because they were fun to watch, but Steve and Joanie had some moves that I have never seen before. I always asked Steve if he would teach a class to show us his moves and he would say "someday".I have probably danced more dances where Steve was the DJ more than any other DJ in FL. He had a great sense of whether songs were dance-able.Steve was tender-hearted because he had graciously experienced tragedy in his own life. We will all keep Joanie and their family in our prayers for them to be comforted. I know they will miss Steve's presence in their lives. We all celebrate the life that Steve lived. Thanks for the memories Steve!WE MISS YOU STEVE!Your friend and dance buddy,Paul JonesPS -I share this picture because it is one of my favorites of Steve-he had a great sense of humor. I did not even know he had "photo bombed" us until later.https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1112684771617&set=a.1112682251554.18857.1061844491&type=1&theater
