Mr. Joseph James Manning, 100, of Longwood, FL, passed away May 09, 2014. He was born July 25, 1913 in New York City, NY. He moved to the area 35 years ago from Oklahoma City, OK. Mr. Manning was a Flight Standards Manager and served in the US Navy. Mr. Manning is preceded by his wife Virginia Carolyn Ray. He is survived by his children Jeremy Orr, Joyce Dowd, JoAnn Blood, Sheree Holloway, Richard Manning, Susan Montgomery, Robert Manning; 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
This heritage started 67 years ago with Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, who founded the First Baptist Church of Daytona Beach, Florida, in 1934. In 1938 Francis E. Loomis, son of Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, received his license to practice Mortuary Science and in 1941 established Loomis Funeral Home of Winter Garden, FL.
