Arturo Colon Modesto, 86, of Apopka, passed away Tuesday, April 01, 2014. He was born February 15, 1928 in New York, New York and moved to Central Florida in 2001. He was an OB/GYN and a veteran of the US Army. Mr. Modesto is survived by his children, Elba Gale, Victor Modesto, MD, Raul Modesto, Cristobal Modesto; sister, Elsie Gil del Rubio; 10 grandchildren.

This heritage started 67 years ago with Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, who founded the First Baptist Church of Daytona Beach, Florida, in 1934. In 1938 Francis E. Loomis, son of Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, received his license to practice Mortuary Science and in 1941 established Loomis Funeral Home of Winter Garden, FL.
