Luaina McPhearson-Severance, age 63, of Ocoee, passed away on Wednesday, March 05, 2014. Born on February 27, 1951 in Elwood, IN, she moved to the Central Florida area in 1987. Mrs. McPhearson-Severance was a Methodist and participated on various bowling and dart leagues. She was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Jones and sister, Sharon Shannon.
Mrs. McPhearson-Severance is survived by her loving husband, Frank Byrd Severance of Ocoee; father, Lloyd (Edith) McPhearson of Elwood, IN; son, Tracy (Serena) Coons of Elwood, IN; brothers, Jon McPhearson of IN and Jim McPhearson, of Elwood, IN; sisters, Anita Gant of Lebanon, IN and Maggie Holderman of Elwood, IN; five grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
This heritage started 67 years ago with Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, who founded the First Baptist Church of Daytona Beach, Florida, in 1934. In 1938 Francis E. Loomis, son of Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, received his license to practice Mortuary Science and in 1941 established Loomis Funeral Home of Winter Garden, FL.
