Melinda Marie Hurst, age 50, of Apopka, passed away on Tuesday, January 07, 2014. She was born on July 05, 1963 in Orlando. Ms. Hurst worked in the healthcare industry.
Ms. Hurst is survived by her loving children, Thomas Anthony Hurst, Allison Hurst, and Aaron Hurst; mother, Ruby Baxter; father, Dennis (Mary) Baxter; brother, Timothy Baxter; and grandchild, Chase Parker Hurst.
This heritage started 67 years ago with Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, who founded the First Baptist Church of Daytona Beach, Florida, in 1934. In 1938 Francis E. Loomis, son of Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, received his license to practice Mortuary Science and in 1941 established Loomis Funeral Home of Winter Garden, FL.

Melinda lived across the street from me and we went to school together. I reconnected with her via Facebook a year or so ago. She and I did some reminiscing…we shared our life stories….lots of good memories. I'm so sorry to hear of her passing, and very sorry that I won't be able to attend her services as I am out of town.
