Mauricio Betancur, age 19, of Apopka, passed away on Tuesday, October 08, 2013. Born on July 01, 1994 in Paterson, NJ, he moved to the Central Florida area with his family thirteen years ago. Mr. Betancur was a Catholic and worked in sales. He was preceded in death by his father, Ruben Betancur.
Mr. Betancur is survived by his loving mother, Ana Betancur; stepfather, Heriberto Mandez; grandmother, Providencia Avila; and siblings, Ruben D. Betancur, Rafael Betancur, Pedro Betancur, and Ruben D. Torres.
This heritage started 67 years ago with Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, who founded the First Baptist Church of Daytona Beach, Florida, in 1934. In 1938 Francis E. Loomis, son of Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, received his license to practice Mortuary Science and in 1941 established Loomis Funeral Home of Winter Garden, FL.
