MARIA G. SALDANA, 86, of Apopka, passed away Monday, August 26, 2013. She was born July 05, 1927 in Taft, Texas and moved to Central Florida over 40 years ago from Texas. She was a Teacher’s Aide and of Pentecostal Faith. Ms. Saldana is survived by her children, Maria Curtiss, Juan Saldana, Linda Escobedo and Pat Turcios; siblings, Aldenia Blanco, Janie Cruz, Flora Martinez, Petra Perez, Rudy Guzman and Polo Guzman; 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
This heritage started 67 years ago with Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, who founded the First Baptist Church of Daytona Beach, Florida, in 1934. In 1938 Francis E. Loomis, son of Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, received his license to practice Mortuary Science and in 1941 established Loomis Funeral Home of Winter Garden, FL.
