Heriberto Sierra-Castro, age 80, of Gotha, passed away on Tuesday, June 04, 2013. Born on July 21, 1932 in Naguabo, Puerto Rico, he moved to the Central Florida area 25 years ago from New Jersey. Mr. Sierra-Castro served in the US Marines and worked as a Master Electrician/Entrepreneur.
Mr. Sierra-Castro is survived by his loving wife, Rosa J. Sierra; children, Nancy DeJesus, Rosemarie Pimienta, Herbert Sierra, Jr., Betty Ruocco, and Lillian Sierra; five sisters; three brothers; and nine grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, June 10, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Florida National Cemetery 6502 SW 102nd Avenue Bushnell, FL 33513. This heritage started 67 years ago with Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, who founded the First Baptist Church of Daytona Beach, Florida, in 1934. In 1938 Francis E. Loomis, son of Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, received his license to practice Mortuary Science and in 1941 established Loomis Funeral Home of Winter Garden, FL.
