Robert J. Carr, 93, of Casselberry, Florida, passed away April 12, 2016. Mr. Carr was born May 18, 1922 in Cleveland, OH. He was an Engineer in the Defense Industry. Mr. Carr is preceded in death by his son Richard Carr and grandson Robert J. Carr III. He is survived by his loving wife Helen Carr of Casselberry; children Robert (Betty) Carr, II of St. Cloud, Nancy (Scott) Cooke of RI, Barbara (Paul) Johnson of Orlando; 6 grandchildren Michael Carr, Dana McQuade, Taylor (Bobby) Leopold, Tyler Cooke, Brandy Carr, Bryan Carr; 4 great grandchildren Sean, Mia, Grayson, Rhys.

This heritage started 67 years ago with Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, who founded the First Baptist Church of Daytona Beach, Florida, in 1934. In 1938 Francis E. Loomis, son of Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, received his license to practice Mortuary Science and in 1941 established Loomis Funeral Home of Winter Garden, FL.

My thoughts and prayers are with the ‘Carr’ family. I had the honor of knowing “Gramp’s” through Bob & Betty and their many holiday family gatherings. It was a pleasure to talk with him & hear the great stories that he had to tell. A wonderful man that will certainly be missed. Just think of the angels he has joined. My heart goes out to all of you.
