Joseph Carmie Ledford Jr., 90, of Apopka, Florida passed away on October 24, 2021. Mr. Ledford was born on March 18, 1931 in Steele, Missouri. He is preceded in death by his parents Carmie and Rhoda Ledford; siblings Virgil Ledford, Homer Ledford, Rayburn Ledford, and Salena Slayton; as well as his daughter Sandra Diane Ledford. He is survived by his children Mary Ann Ledford, Philip Ledford, Johnny Ledford, and Donna Kirkland; 2 grandsons; 3 granddaughters; 2 great grandsons; 4 great granddaughters; as well as 1 great great granddaughter. He will be missed by his many loved ones and friends.

This heritage started 67 years ago with Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, who founded the First Baptist Church of Daytona Beach, Florida, in 1934. In 1938 Francis E. Loomis, son of Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, received his license to practice Mortuary Science and in 1941 established Loomis Funeral Home of Winter Garden, FL.
