Michael “Mike” Angelo Rodriguez, 82 passed away on April 26, 2022 in Apopka, Florida. Born on September 29, 1939 in Aibonito, Puerto Rico, he was the son of Isabel Gonzalez Rodriguez and Juan Rodriguez Aponte. Moved to New Jersey as a child, spent most of his adult life in California before retiring in Orlando, Florida.
Mike was hired as a Pastry Chef and retired with United Airlines after 34 years of service in Philadelphia, San Francisco and Orlando.
He was an avid sports fan especially for horse racing, baseball and football. He loved traveling, bicycling, watching old Turner Classic movies, westerns and spending time with his family and friends.
It gave him great pleasure sending Hallmark cards with scratchers and a penny on every occasion.
Music especially Country and Jazz he couldn’t live without…it gave him a sense of peace, comfort and happiness.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory to his 2 daughters, Maria “Mickey”Rodriguez Struk (Mike), Lisa “Spongie” Snow, (Billy) , Stepson, Raynaldo “Ray” Santiago (Evelyn),
1 grandchild, Damone Franklin, (Annette), 2 great grandchildren, Legend Franklin and Journey Franklin.
He is also survived by 3 sisters, Rosa Roman, Ana Carrion and Alice Ibarrondo and many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends, predeceased by 3 sisters, Lydia Torres, Laura Ibarrondo and Gloria Cruz.
Mike’s motto for living life was “Piece of Cake”.
