John Garris, 90, of Paisley, Florida passed away on June 28, 2022. Mr. Garris was born on January 22, 1932 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Willie and Ethel Garris. Both John and his wife Nellie Mae lived in Apopka for 37 years. He was preceded in death by his daughter Linda Faye West as well as by 4 sisters and 2 brothers. Mr. Garris is survived by his beloved wife Nellie Mae Garris who he was married to for 71 wonderful years; son Paul Garris; grandchildren Robert West, Tonya Parker, Michelle Garris, Johnnie West, Melissa Jones, Michael Garris, and Josh Garris; 13 great grandchildren; as well as 6 great-great grandchildren. Mr. Garris was a hard worker who worked at Merita Bread for 36 years. He will be dearly missed by his many loved ones and friends.

Loomis, received his license to practice Mortuary Science and in 1941 established Loomis Funeral Home of Winter Garden, FL.

John always had a smile and something positive to say. It was an honor to visit with him before his passing. We talked about God and He knew where he was going he was ok with it. He loved the Lord. He is at peace now and he will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time.
