Lara Ann Esterson, 43, of Sanford, Florida passed away Sunday, August 21, 2022 from complications of a long-term autoimmune condition. She was born September 13, 1978 in Orlando, Florida to Heinz Linser and Rhonda Sleister. She married Kris Esterson, February 12, 2011. She is survived by her husband, her mother, her sister Cara Morris, her in-laws, her uncles and aunts, and many family members whom she loved dearly.
At a year old, Lara had meningitis resulting in a profound hearing loss. Despite this challenge she embraced life with the mindset that any obstacle could be overcome. She approached problems with quiet resolve, focus, and optimism. “I can do it” was always her perspective.
Lara was introduced to horses at an early age and quickly fell in love with what would become a life-long passion for equestrian sports. She excelled at the sport of eventing and her favorite element was the adventurous and demanding cross country event. Apart from the thrill of competing, she loved spending time at the barn taking care of horses and being around her many “horse friends”.
Lara graduated from Lake Brantley High School in 1997. She graduated from UCF in 2010 with two degrees, one in Health Information Management and one in Health Services Administration. Lara worked for AdventHealth for nearly 24 years. She initially worked in Human Resources and later in Health Information Management.
Lara was a friend to many. She had a way of connecting with people quickly and making them feel as if somehow she’d been in their lives for a long time. She loved deeply. Her infectious smile brought happiness to those around her. Her enthusiasm was unsurpassed. She had a quiet confidence. She was truly one in a million.
Wonderful memories of Lara will remain in the hearts of her family and friends forever. A celebration of her life will be held September 10, 2022 at 4PM at the Markham Woods SDA Church, at 505 Markham Woods Road, Longwood, FL 32779. A reception will follow the celebration of life.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the National Scleroderma Foundation in Lara’s name.
