Maria Lidia Joaquim, 89, of Apopka, Florida passed away on September 23, 2022. Mrs. Joaquim was born on July 24, 1933 in Vale Florido, Portugal. Mrs. Joaquim is preceded in death by her loving husband Jerome Joaquim. She is survived by her children Linda (Joseph Pereira) Sheldon and Denise (Steven) Vantassell; sister Celeste Pena; grandchildren Joel (Xavie) Sheldon and Jocelynn (Jonathan) Martinusen; great grandchildren Hunter, Wyatt, Madison, Mason, Jennifer and Sky; as well as her beloved chihuahua Leia. She will be missed by her many loved ones and friends.

This heritage started 67 years ago with Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, who founded the First Baptist Church of Daytona Beach, Florida, in 1934. In 1938 Francis E. Loomis, son of Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, received his license to practice Mortuary Science and in 1941 established Loomis Funeral Home of Winter Garden, FL.
