Joseph Howard Myers Jr., 66, a long time Apopka resident passed away on December 14, 2022. He was born on March 31, 1956 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Joseph and Anna Marie Myers. He is preceded in death by his brother-in-law James Johnston and his nephew Christopher Johnston. Mr. Myers is survived his siblings Nanci Johnston, Kathleen McCall (Francis), and Mary Brown (Roger); 6 nieces and nephews, as well as 5 great nieces and nephews. He will be missed by his cousins, loved ones and friends. At the end of his life he resided with his sister and brother-in-law, Kathleen and Francis McCall.

This heritage started 67 years ago with Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, who founded the First Baptist Church of Daytona Beach, Florida, in 1934. In 1938 Francis E. Loomis, son of Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, received his license to practice Mortuary Science and in 1941 established Loomis Funeral Home of Winter Garden, FL.
