Our deepest condolences to Mr. Jim and the entire PORTERFIELD family. We lived next door to Ms. Marilyn and Mr. Jim in Jacksonville for a number of years and they were two of the most loving, caring people in the neighborhood. They treated us as family and was always willing to lend a helping hand, as well as give sage advice if needed. Ms. Marilyn was truly a loving, God fearing Christian who shared her love for Christ and people. She will truly be missed. Although she is now absent in the body, we take comfort in knowing that she is present with our Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ in Heaven.

Dear Jim and family,
My heart goes out to all of you. I have such fond memories of Marilyn and my mom together. They are together again in peace and comfort. I loved hearing stories of their time in nursing school in Roanoke and the special bond they shared throughout life. The Price family loved spending time with the Porterfield family at the side-by-side cabins in the Virginia mountains, such special memories that I cherish. Marilyn loved all of you and enjoyed updating us on everyone’s activities and interests. We love you all and send hugs and blessings. With deepest sympathy,
