A letter from her children:
Dear Mom,
I know that you understand how difficult it is for me to be writing this letter to you.
As the oldest child, you and Dad told me that I had to be the responsible one. So I’m doing what you’ve asked of me by writing this to you.
We, all of your children, Peggy, Brenda, Lucy, Wanda, Buddy and I want you to know that we miss you dearly. As sad as it is and as much as our hearts ache we’re so very grateful that the good Lord took you home to be with him and that you’re now at peace. We know that it’s what you wanted and we’re happy for you.
As we, your family and friends, have come together to celebrate your life, and what you meant to us, I hope that you like the service that has been prepared for you. I know that I didn’t give you everything that you wanted. I did the best that I could and in my heart I know that you understand.
There is something that we wanted to do to celebrate you, to give you something special, that we thought you would enjoy.
Pink – we know that it’s your favorite color and how much you liked it. So we’ve given you as much pink as we could think of and many have dressed in pink to help us honor you. We hope you it makes you happy.
Mom, although you’ve physically left us to go to a better place you will always be in our hearts and souls. Rest in peace mom. We all love you.
Your children,
Joyce, Peggy, Brenda, Lucy, Wanda and Buddy

My deepest sympathy. I am so glad that I was able to visit with her over the phone since 1996! Her husband, Ralph, and my dad were army buddies, and we all kept in touch over the years. It was my pleasure to talk with her.
Norma says
Wanda & family, I’m so sorry for your loss. Yall have been such good neighbors and I’m thankful for the visits we had recently. One of the best memories was her birthday during the pandemic when the line of cars came by, including the Fire Trucks, yelling happy birthday to her. I know she enjoyed that. Wish you peace and may God bless you all.
Joyce Johnson says
Dear Mom,
I love and miss you every day.
