Dave Matthias, 63, of Orlando, Florida passed away on December 31, 2023. Mr. Matthias was born on September 04, 1960 in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. Mr. Matthias is preceded in death by his parents Gutliffe Cornelius Matthias and Evelyn Agatha Matthias; siblings George Matthias and John Matthias; as well as his brother in law Daniel Lake. He is survived by his loving wife Maria Matos-Matthias; children David Matthias, Rebecca Harmon and Rachael Harmon; siblings Douglas Matthias, Nigel Matthias, Ovilda Lake and Obed Matthias; grandson Kaiden Schreiber; as well as in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed by his many loved ones and friends.

This heritage started 67 years ago with Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, who founded the First Baptist Church of Daytona Beach, Florida, in 1934. In 1938 Francis E. Loomis, son of Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, received his license to practice Mortuary Science and in 1941 established Loomis Funeral Home of Winter Garden, FL.
