Richard McKee Jr., 85, of Apopka, Florida passed away on February 04, 2024. Mr. McKee was born on May 28, 1938 in Lepanto, Arkansas. Mr. McKee is preceded in death by his brothers James McKee, Charles McKee and Billy McKee. He is survived by his children Shirley Burgess of Floyd, Virginia, Patricia Bartels of Huntingtown, Maryland, Richard McKee III of Mechanicsville, Maryland, Barbara Brooks of Lexington Park, Maryland and John McKee of Hollywood, Maryland; sisters Patsy Ray of Talladega, Alabama, Betsy Gallo of Birmingham Alabama and Joann Deese of Birmingham, Alabama as well as 11 grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by his many loved ones and friends.
This heritage started 67 years ago with Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, who founded the First Baptist Church of Daytona Beach, Florida, in 1934. In 1938 Francis E. Loomis, son of Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, received his license to practice Mortuary Science and in 1941 established Loomis Funeral Home of Winter Garden, FL.
