This heritage started 67 years ago with Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, who founded the First Baptist Church of Daytona Beach, Florida, in 1934. In 1938, Francis E. Loomis, son of Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, received his license to practice Mortuary Science and in 1941 established Loomis Funeral Home of Winter Garden, FL. Loomis Funeral Home of Apopka was opened by James (Jim) R. Loomis, Sr. with the concept that the Funeral Care Industry needs people that care and give service from the heart with compassion and kindness and care that doesn’t end with the service. This is a business, but, at the same time, we remember we are dealing with individuals who have lost the most precious gift of all – ‘Their Loved Ones.’ In difficult times it helps to know that all arrangements are being handled with the utmost dignity and understanding. You will find that we are a family that cares. We serve all surrounding areas: Clermont, Astatula, Eustis, Mount Dora, Tangerine, Sorrento, Zellwood, Apopka, Ocoee, Winter Garden, Oakland, Orlando, Lockhart, Altamonte Springs, Longwood, Sanford, Winter Springs, Oviedo, All of Orange, Seminole and Lake Counties.
