Mr. Arnold Grant Thompson Sr

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Arnold Grant Thompson Sr on Sunday, March 16, 2025, at the age of 88, at Advent Health Apopka Hospital. Arnold was born in Gilliam, WV on May 10, 1936 to Grant and Thelma (Lawrence) Thompson who both predeceased him in death.

He is survived by his daughter Theresa Lester and husband Shawn of Raven, VA, his son James Thompson Sr and wife Tracy of Clermont, FL, his son Warren Johnson of Fairton, NJ. His sister Anita (Ruth) Radford of Apopka, FL, Judy Thompson of Apopka, FL and Viola (Faye) Evans of Pittsgrove, NJ. He was predeceased in death by his brother Bobby Joe Thompson, his daughter Patti Meade and son Arnold Thompson Jr.

 Arnold was a Marine from 1954 to 1957. He also volunteered in the Upper Deerfield Fire Dept (NJ) and the City of Bridgeton Jail (NJ). He was active in Church (Deerfield Methodist & The First Church of the Nazarene) & loved fishing with his sons the most but also other family and friends.

 Arnold worked as a Foreman at the 7 UP Plant (NJ), a Mechanic at Merbecks (NJ), Technician for RC Cola Co (FL) and an Installer at Advantage Glass (FL).

 He had an unconditional love for his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and was so proud of all of them. 

He is survived by his grandchildren: Misty Blue Lamanteer Curry, Jessica Lamanteer Grose, Brian Meade Jr, Anthony J Thompson Sr, Jennifer Thompson, Michael Meade Sr, Trey Sinclair, Elizabeth Thompson, Chas Sinclair, Christopher Thompson Sr, James Thompson Jr, Miranda Thompson Bratton, Jordan Lester and Matthew Haynes Grandchild that predeceased him in death: Sabrina Thompson; great grandchildren: Ricki Grose Dunford, Brittany Grose Jennings, Tarra Hannah Grose, Brice Hodges, Kara Duplechian, Austin Grose, John Gulley, PFC Stanley Curry, Madison Hider, Michael Shane Hanshaw, Brianna (Belle) Bailey, Emily Meade, Benjamin Meade Carty, Logan Thompson, Michaelah Gutowski, Cathryn Gulley, Morgan Meade Carty, Dylan Sinclair, Rileigh Thompson, Bailie Curry, Rebecca Sinclair, Alayna Thompson, Nathanial Meade Hoppe, Christopher Thompson Jr, Levi Owens, Caydence Thompson, Jasmine Williams, Eli Owens, Lucas Watkins, Paislee Thompson, Michael Meade Jr, Davinah Sinclair, Anthony Thompson Jr, James Thompson III, Joseph Thompson, Evie Bratton and Raelynn Cline; as well as his great-great grandchildren: Garrison Simpkins, Jaxtyn Jennings, Cambreigh Dunford, Kayd Jennings, Henry Dunford, Alivian Jennings, Taylor Hodges and Bradley Dunford. 

He is preceded in death by his great-great grandson Ethan Dakota Williams. 

He will be dearly missed by his many loved ones and friends.
