Elaine Edmunds Shower, 71, of Winter Park, Florida passed away on November 08, 2021. Mrs. Shower was born on November 14, 1949 in Akron, Ohio. She is survived by her children Jessica (Mathew D.) Meskimen and Joseph Shower; grandchildren Lincoln Meskimen, Levi Meskimen, Margaret Meskimen, Luke Meskimen and Shepherd Meskimen as well as siblings Alan Vaughan Edmunds and Peter Vaughan Edmunds.
This heritage started 67 years ago with Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, who founded the First Baptist Church of Daytona Beach, Florida, in 1934. In 1938 Francis E. Loomis, son of Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, received his license to practice Mortuary Science and in 1941 established Loomis Funeral Home of Winter Garden, FL.

As a former friend and high school classmate of Lanie, I’m so so very sad to hear of her passing. She was a beautiful friendly energetically heartwarming personality and though it’s been many years since I’ve seen her she will surely be missed by many.

I am deeply saddened upon hearing of Lanie’s passing back in November. It seems like just yesterday when we last talked, but it was over a year ago as we talked about getting together, both being transplanted “Floridians”. It never happened, but I will never forget that conversation. Lanie was sweet, never into herself; just a nice woman. My prayers go out to her loved ones and please know she was one of the best kept secrets of “neat” kids in the class of ’67 in Wellesley High School.
