Joan Mildred Draeger

Joan Mildred Draeger of Apopka Florida passed away the morning of February 3, 2025 at 94 years of age with family by her side. She was born July 31, 1930 the only daughter of Jerome and Helen Baker in Queens, New York. Joan attended Catholic school as a child and graduated from Jamaica High School in 1949.

While living in New York Joan fell in love and married her husband Wendell on February 4, 1951. Over the years she gave birth to four daughters and eventually relocated to Apopka in 1980. Here she and Wendell continued to raise their youngest daughter. Together they enjoyed spending time with friends and neighbors, attending social clubs and traveling. Through out her life Joan loved children, animals, music, reading and a good joke.

In later years her hidden talents were revealed through arts and crafts. Ever sharp minded Joan had an illustrious reputation at the game of trivial pursuit and with the luck of the Irish she was a prize winning bingo competitor.

Joan is preceded in death by her adoring husband Wendell Dwight Draeger. She is lovingly remembered by her daughters and two grandchildren. Kathleen Trapani and her husband Albert Trapani of Florida. Christine Hugle(John Hugle) along with her granddaughter Jessica and grandson Stephen of New Jersey. Ellen Draeger and her partner Edward Strunk of New York and Linda Draeger and her husband John Duffy of Florida.

Joan's memory will live on through the love she had for her family and friends. We were all truly blessed to have had her in our lives for 94 years.
