Mark Randall (“Poppie”) Houston, 75, of Apopka, Florida passed away on Monday, January 27, 2025 following a prolonged illness. He was born in Trenton, Wayne County, Michigan to Col. Russell Laverle Houston and Helen F. Houston, where Col. Houston was then stationed during his military service and career in the U.S. Air Force.
He was married to Deborah Ann Houston, his wife of 55 years, who preceded him in death in 2024. They moved to the Orlando area in 1973 following his service in the U.S. Air Force. He was a logistics and supply systems engineer (retired).
“Poppie” Houston was an avid sportsman, enjoying hunting and fishing, and took special care to teach and pass on his passion to his beloved grandsons.
He is survived by his daughter Shelly Ann Houston of Orlando, and grandsons, Ethan Morgan Tessinari and Trenton Christian Tessinari, both of Apopka, Florida. He is also survived by his sister, Bridgett M. Houston and brother Byron M. Houston, both of Clermont, Florida.
The family will hold a private service at a later date.
