Al Jones of Apopka, Florida formerly of Rochester, died peacefully on January 07, 2022 surrounded by family after a year long battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife Janis; sons Timothy of Austin, Andrew (Pamela) of Longwood, and daughter Cara of Longwood; grandchildren Andrew Jr., Reagan, Buddy, Arden, Rece, and Rowan Jones, Annabelle and Madelyn Vinas. Also survived by sister Patty Jones of Colorado, brother Larry of Florida, and brothers in law Richard Kane of Altlanta and Robert Kane (Susan) of Nashville. Al was employed by Kodak for 21 years, and then became a Registered Nurse, working at VNS, and Lifetime Care in Rochester, and VNA of Orlando. He was devoted to his family, friends, and his Savior Jesus Christ.

This heritage started 67 years ago with Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, who founded the First Baptist Church of Daytona Beach, Florida, in 1934. In 1938 Francis E. Loomis, son of Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, received his license to practice Mortuary Science and in 1941 established Loomis Funeral Home of Winter Garden, FL.

Jan , sad to read of Al’s passing. I send you my deepest condolences. He was an incredible man. I think of you often and am grateful to you and Al’s forever for leading me to Christ and showing me love and friendship. Time goes on but people like you remain in the hearts of many. I am on FB.
