Avastein Slater, 84, of Apopka, passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2014. He was born June 16, 1929 in Stillmore, GA and moved to Central Florida 70 years ago. He was a Master Electrician and a Christian. Mr. Slater is survived by his children, Trisha Slimon, Ronald Slater and Ava Newsome; brother, Dwight Moody Slater; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
