Bill Houton, 91, of Daytona Beach, passed away Friday, January 03, 2014. He was born October 23, 1922 in Athens, Greece and spent most of his life in Miami, Fl. He later moved to Altamonte Springs and spent the last few years in Daytona Beach. He was a Manager in the Retail Industry. Mr. Houton is survived by his niece, Susan Bakidis of Longwood, Florida. Bill was an Uncle, Great Uncle and a Great-Great Uncle who will be missed by his family.
This heritage started 67 years ago with Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, who founded the First Baptist Church of Daytona Beach, Florida, in 1934. In 1938 Francis E. Loomis, son of Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, received his license to practice Mortuary Science and in 1941 established Loomis Funeral Home of Winter Garden, FL.
