Brandon Shawn Sims passed away on May 3rd, 2022 at Orlando Health. He turned 39 on his day of passing.
Brandon was born in Orlando, Florida on May 3rd, 1983. He spent most of his life here with his mother Debbie, stepfather Ken and grandmother Rita. Later, his siblings Courtnie and Evan came. Several years after, his nephew Cody was born. Brandon loved being a big brother but more than that, he loved being an uncle. Brandon also loved sports! Especially football and basketball. His favorite teams were the Carolina Panthers and the Orlando Magic. What Brandon will be remembered for is his brilliant mind and his love for knowledge. He was only 1 semester away from receiving his degree as an Electrical Engineer at UCF. He will also be remembered for his extreme love for his family and friends.

The family will have a celebration of life on Sunday, May 15th, 2022. The service will be held at Loomis Funeral Home, 420 W Main Street Apopka, FL 32712. The viewing will begin at 1pm and the service will start at 2pm. This will be followed by a graveside burial service at Woodlawn Cemetery, located at 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Rd Gotha, FL.

I only recently found out about Brandon’s passing and the news hit me hard. We used to gather every morning before class, me, Brandon, Drew Daniels, Mike Clevenger, Patrick Butler. Sometimes there were more, sometimes less but it was always a good time. He was a funny kid and I’ll always remember him that way.
