Chester Ray Holder, age 85 of Casselberry, Florida, loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother & Son passed away suddenly on April 27th, 2022, at Advent Health-Florida Hospital Altamonte Springs, FL. He was born January 31, 1937 to James and Irene Holder in Murfreesboro, TN. He was the third of four children. He graduated from Central High School in 1955 and joined the United States Army shortly thereafter. He was a dedicated and faithful employee of the United States Postal Service for more than 40 years until he retired in 2012.He had a heart of gold and loved exploring and finding unusual things on his daily walks or wherever he might be. He loved fishing with one of his brothers-in-law every chance they could get together. He had a humorous side as well that could keep you laughing for hours with the many stories he would tell. He dearly loved all of his family near and far and would have loved to have them all closer to him. He loved sharing stories of growing up and reminiscing with his brother and sisters. He was a longtime member of Bellwood Baptist Church and eventually Lighthouse Baptist Church in Murfreesboro, TN where he faithfully served as an usher and sang in the church choir, as well as with quartet for many years. He absolutely loved to sing good old southern gospel music and even spent time as a bus driver for the The Rambos back in the 70’s.
He is survived by his Wife of 61 years, Mary Evelyn Holder (Jimerson), Daughter, Lisa Dianne Gammon (Holder) and Granddaughter, Whitney Renee Gammon all of Casselberry, FL. He is also survived by his Brother James Holder (Dorothy) of Chattanooga, TN and Sister Peggy Barrett (James Edward) of Christiana, TN and many Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by his Father, James Marvin Holder and Mother, Irene Holder and Sister, Betty Lou Daniels.
