Daniel Michael Ortiz, 34, a longtime resident of Apopka, Florida passed away on October 20, 2024. Mr. Ortiz was born on August 05, 1990 in Gainesville, Florida to James and Myriam Grubb. He is survived by his loving wife Victoria “Tori’ Jade Ortiz; children Kaden Blaine Ortiz, Karsen Michael Ortiz, Karter Ray Ortiz, Kyleigh Jade Ortiz and Kaislyn Dallis Ortiz; mother-in-law Kristie “Leigh” Smith; father-in-law Erwin “Ray” Gilliard; brothers Luis Grubb and Kolton Paugh; grandparents Daniel and Ruby Ortiz; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Daniel graduated from Apopka High School in 2008. He was a highly respected and dedicated professional, as Southeast Regional Sales Manager for Axis Portable Air. Daniel loved to grill out while watching his favorite college football team the Florida Gators. He had a love for watching and taking pictures of sunsets, playing golf, and the weekly rummy games between him and his wife, Tori. Daniel always liked to look sharp by making sure he wore his cowboy boots, a hat, a different watch for each day of the week and his favorite colognes, but more importantly was the smile he wore when you saw him.
Of all of this, his most cherished job was being a father, making sure to show up for every milestone and event in their five lives. From cheering them on in their sports games, to games of hide and seek, to Daddy-Daughter dances. He always showed up for them with words of positive encouragement, guidance and love! He will be dearly missed by his many loved ones and friends.

Kirk Dickson says
To the Ortiz family I am very sorry for your loss and send my condolences and prayers to your family. My name is Kirk Dickson and I was fortunate to reestablish contact with Daniel recently. I had coached Daniel when he played Pop Warrner football with one of my sons and I remember him well. Daniel was one of my defensive players and always gave his all at practice and on the field. I recently reconnected with Daniel at a conference I was attending where he was one of the exhibitors. I must say it was Daniel that recognized me and not the other way around. It was a pleasure to reconnect, and we chatted about the Pop Warrner days for a little while. For Danile to recognize me meat I made some type of an impact on his life, and that was very touching to me, over 20 years later he still knew who I was.
Please know that your family is in my prayers.
