Dave Dario Marquez, 61, also known as “Dario” or “Rio”, born February 2nd, 1962, passed away May 1st, 2023 after battling cancer. Dave passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by his family in Tavares, Florida. He was Born in Havana, Cuba, to Martha Marquez and Agustin Marquez. Dave then moved to the United States at the age of 9, living first in New York and then Chicago. He later settled in Apopka, Florida around the age of 13. He is preceded in death by his mother, Martha M. Marquez (a mother to many) and father, Agustin D. Marquez.
Dave is survived by his wife, Tess Haubner Marquez. God blessed them with each other later in life, but the true love they shared was something everyone dreams of. He is also survived by his sons, Austin and Dylan Marquez, brother, Luis Marquez, and was eagerly waiting to welcome his first grandson, Beckham Dario Marquez.
Dave had a smile that was contagious and would light up every room he entered. His dance moves would clear a dance floor like no other, and he was always the life of the party. He desired to make everyone around him happy, and loved spending time with family, fishing, boating, hunting, camping, grilling, traveling and sharing his many stories over a few cold beers. He never knew a stranger and never turned down the opportunity to have a good time.
Dave shared words of wisdom and inspired those around him. He was an amazing father that taught his kids that God, family, and spending time with ones you love are the most important things in life. He spent quality time with his kids taking them fishing from an early age. He started putting a saying on Facebook at the end of all his posts, “take a kid fishing”, to inspire other fathers to spend quality time with their kids. He impacted many lives with his loving and kind heart as a husband, father, brother, grandpa, uncle, cousin, and friend, and will be missed by all who knew him.

My most heartfelt condolences to Tess, Austin, Dylan, Erica and Luis.
What a beautiful obituary!
Dari (as we called him) was a special person since he was a kid. I can remember him always having a beautiful smile, sense of humor and care for others. He was also a special cousin.
Today, I feel saddened for Dari’s passing but feel very proud of him to see the special bond he created with Austin, Dylan and Erica and how much they love him…this says it all.
Dari, Rest In Peace…Love you forever.

I knew him as Rio. In the 14 years that I knew him he was full of life and great big smiles and laughter. He will be greatly missed by many! We were in a aluminum boat together for Franko’s celebration of life and we hit a severe thunder storm and we were all scared but Rio kept us laughing through it.❤️ RIP Rio we all love you! 🥰
