Gus, I am truly at a loss for words to describe how I'm feeling right now. You are by far one of the nicest, most decent human beings I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. I'm honored to be able to call one of my closest and dearest friends. I'm glad that we got to spend a little bit of time together last year while I was down here for a few days, but it was far too short and I can't believe that was the last time I would have many of the great conversations with you. I will treasure those many conversations we had over the years, as I am without a doubt a better person for having known you.The Lord sent us an angel to us, I'm just upset that He called you back home so soon. He must need you more up there than we do down here. Does He not have any bartenders up there that can sing karaoke while they're serving their patrons?!?!Speaking of that, I think I hear the karaoke machine playing one of your songs now. So go grab the mic and show them how it's done!Love ya big guy, and I know you'll be watch over us all from above.

I met Gus threw my dearest friend Ang he was the most kindest most caring person I have met his words of advice and encouragement have taught me a lot. When I was having a rough patch Gus and Ang got me through it, I can't believe god has taken him from us to soon, Gus's and Ang's love was so strong, he was her rock, he was the best father to Emily. We all just had dinner weeks back it was so fun, he played Xbox with my son, we flew down to Florida on the same flight, he recently just wrote the most sweetest thing about my family on Facebook, and we commented and joked back and fourth. He truly has had a big impact on me and I will always treasure every piece of advice from you Gus! The other day I was talking to Ang and she was like o'h boy you sound just like Gus! I said you're damn right I do! Lol forever in our hearts Gus until we meet again! And hey I'm ready to thump Butts for you! Lol thank you so much for being you and I promise I will do my part to see that those precious girls of yours Ang & Emily will be ok, I already know they will be because they have you as their angel and you have always taken care of them! ????

I only knew Gus for 2 weeks when we came to Florida in April and stayed at Maingate. He made our holiday so special,,made us so welcome and nothing was to much trouble for him. I kept in contact with him through facebook when I came back to the UK and in that short time I feel as I got to know him more as a friend. He was a lovely, generous kind and funloving man and I am so sorry I will never be able to return to Florida and see him again. God bless you Gus and your family.

Gus, I was blessed to have met you, and call you one of my best friends. You were my rock and guardian angel through the worst parts of my life. You were my best bud through all the rest. You were a best friend to everyone you met. They say the best way to honor someone that has passed is to try to be like them. Your shoes are very tough to fill, but I will try. The only way I can make sense of you going to heaven so early is that God needed a coach for His Angels. This is the way I explained it to my boys, who were also very sad. I will cherish all the times that we spent together. Please look over my family and I will see you on the other side, my brother. Everyone that knew you is a better person now. This sucks for all of us, but God just got the #1 draft pick with you.

Sincere condolences to Gus Elliot's family and close friends. Gus always greeted me with a friendly smile, had a wonderful singing voice and took the time to offer words of encouragement. Though I met him shortly after he moved here, I will miss his presence in my life. He was one of the few people who let me pick out songs for him to sing and sang them with his unique voice.
