David “Shane” Bronson (09/23/1967-01/17/2021)
Shane Bronson was born on September 23, 1967 to Stewart and Ruth Bronson in Jackson, Mississippi while his dad was working for Purina as the Southeastern Poultry Manager. A year later the family moved back to Apopka, FL so they could be near family and friends. His family became an integral part of Apopka and established the family business, Bronson Farms Inc in 1968. The business specialized in orange groves, poultry farms, and cattle ranching. Shane was raised with a strong work ethic and worked alongside his father in the business.
Shane took pride in being an Apopka Darter and was the center on the football team for three years. In 1986, his senior year, the football team was undefeated and played in the championship. Down those hallowed halls he met his wife Patty Ryan and they started dating his 10 th grade year. They have been married for 25 years and manage the family ranch in Kenansville, FL. They enjoy the outdoors along with hunting in Florida, Georgia, and Kentucky. He loved freshwater fishing especially catching specs and bass and spent many hours saltwater fishing in Pine Island and Vero. Shane had a great love for animals and enjoyed their pet deer “Daisy” and “helped” Patty raise several cows from the bottle including “Stu” and “Shaney Boy”. Recently he also spent many hours coercing a wild rabbit “Buckshot” to eat a carrot out of his hand.
Shane trusted in Jesus Christ as his Savior and him and Patty were baptized together at First Baptist Church of Apopka. Since living in Kenansville he enjoyed the warm fellowship of believers at First Missionary Baptist Church and many fellow friends and ranchers in the area.
