Earl James Allen, 71, of Zellwood Florida, passed away peacefully at home with family on October 8th, 2022, after courageously battling cancer for several years.
Earl was a valued and vital member of his Zellwood Station community, serving as a long-time member and past president of the Zellwood Station Red Caps, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. He organized and assisted with many Red Caps events including Golf Tournaments for Charity, collecting and delivering food for the needy, and planning and cooking for the annual Red Caps spaghetti dinner. In 2021, Earl was awarded the Don Brenneman Community Service Award.
Earl was known for his outgoing personality and his wicked sense of humor, and was always available to help his neighbors in a pinch. He was the “go-to guy” for anything from a leaky faucet to a treed cat. In his spare time, Earl enjoyed golfing, fishing, playing his bass guitar, and participating in Zellwood Station social events.
Earl was born in Rahway, New Jersey and graduated from Linden High School in 1969. He moved to Zellwood upon his retirement in 2010. Previously, Earl had been employed as a plant manager for Dialight Corporation, and was a licensed electrician and plumber.
Earl was pre-deceased by his mother Irene, father Walter, sister Beverly, son Peter, and his beloved wife of 33 years, Lisa. He is survived by his sisters-in-law, Christine Scott, Carla Bashford, Emilie Cole (Rebecca Campany), Susan Eagle (Gary) and his brother-in-law, Walter Cole (Deborah).
