Earle Wesley Anthony Young passed away on June 9, 2024, in his home surrounded by his family. He was born on December 15, 1940, in Kingston, Jamaica, to Alma and Alfred Young, the fourth of six children. He immigrated to the United States in 1969 in search of a better life. He lived in New York and then moved to Florida where he married his wife, Laura. They eventually settled in Apopka, FL, where they built a home and a family, welcoming a daughter, Eileen, in 1991.
Earle worked as a forklift driver for Superfoods for most of his career. He then retired early to spend his days fishing and making new friends at the pier, tending to his many flowers and fruit plants, riding his lawn mower, investing in stocks and real estate, and taking care of his family. He was a true character and loved to talk to any and everybody. He enjoyed the simple pleasures in life and was known for being a selfless man would give the shirt off his back to a stranger.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Valerie Ryan; and brother, Errol Young, Sr. He is survived by his wife, Laura Young, daughter, Eileen Metcalf; sister, Janet Williams; sister, Claudette Dailey; brother, Richard Young; and many beloved nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held at Annunciation Catholic Church on July 10 th , 2024 at 10am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to AdventHealth Hospice Care or the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation.
