Edwin Hamilton “Ted” Jenks, age 99 years old, died on April 28, 2022, in his home at Erroll Estate, in Apopka, FL.
The son of Leland H. Jenks and Elizabeth Plank Jenks, he was born on Oct. 20, 1922 in a taxi cab enroute to the hospital in CT.
A World War II veteran, Jenks served as a pilot in the US Navy in Brazil from 1942-1945. A graduate of Gould Academy in Bethel ME, he attended Dartmouth College prior to enlisting in the US Navy.
Jenks worked in the wool trade in Boston, then became a commodity futures broker, originally trading in wool in Boston and later in citrus and beef in Florida.
An avid golfer and tennis player, Jenks was a member of the former Erroll Estate Country Club, and Maitland Tennis Club, and a patron of local charities.
An accomplished pianist, he enjoyed a lifetime of birdwatching and watercolor painting.
Jenks is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Margaret Worthman, his first wife Nancy Arnold and son, Glenn Arnold Jenks. He is succeeded by his wife Donna, his daughter, Abbie Jenks, grandsons, Colin (Scott Jarrett) and Ben Mew (Chelsea Young), great-granddaughter, Linnea Rose Mew Young and daughter-in-law Faith Getchell; step children, Steve Baum (Anne), Marcia Levy (Bobby), Ann Panepinto, John Baum (Jodi), seven step grandchildren and five great step grandchildren.
A memorial service on May 12 at 11 am at St. Francis of Assisi church in Apopka.

Ted was a co-worker and friend for twenty years, until we both retired. Saw him for lunch after retirement. Always had a smile and a warm hello. Can still hear his voice.
