I worked as a bartender at BackRoom, and I remember when Ethan started as our bar back, he was a much appreciated breath of fresh air! He was always smiling, which of course just made me smile- a quality we can never take for granted at work. He always had a kind word for everyone and made us all laugh- all the while working hard and making guests laugh with us too. It’s hard to think about such a kind, sweet soul being taken from the world when he still had so many years of laughter ahead of him. I hope Ethan is at peace, and that his friends and family find peace remembering his light and smile.

I was out of town and just heard this sad, sad news today. Ethan was one of my favorite students in AP Language at Apopka High School. My heart is broken for everyone close to him. The world lost a beautiful soul. I too lost a son, and I know there is nothing worse for a parent. Please allow me to help in some small way.

Ethan was the best student I have ever had. He was a thoughtful and beautiful young man. He always valued my opinion on science and life and he is the catalyst that spearheaded me into continuing to teach. I loved following his exploits and keeping up with his efforts in life. He will be more than missed. My thoughts are with the family and all those touched by Ethan’s passing.
