Faris Mathew Crews, age 60, passed from this life on October 20, 2022 at Cornerstone Hospice in Clermont. He was surrounded by his family.
Faris was a loving father and grandfather. His children and grandchildren were his greatest joy! He leaves as his legacy his children, Mathew Crews (Jerrika) and Jeni Lee Burnett (Heath), and grandchildren Hunter Crews, Trevor Burnett, Madison Burnett, and Lulu Crews. He is survived by a sister, Debbie Sauls (Ronnie), and a brother, Shawn Clark (Leslie).
During his life, Faris made many friends which was evident by the large number of visitors during his last days and the large turnout at Hogwaller for his “last ride”. Special friends include Allen Dennison (life-long), Robert Lizzi, and friend and caregiver, Chris Stentson. Chris was a faithful friend who spent the last few months helping to care for Faris.
Faris was preceded in death by his father, James Crews; his mother, Imogene (Tiny) Clark; his step-father, Shelby Clark; brother, Von Crews; a granddaughter, Lilly Crews; a nephew, Daniel Crews, and special faithful, furry friends, Hoagie, Stoker, and Cotton.
As difficult as life can be, life can be good. Faris loved fishing! As a child, he was known for catching fish without bait on the hook in his grandaddy’s pond in Jennings, Florida! His love of fishing continued throughout his life. Faris also enjoyed riding motorcycles and dirt bikes. Many people in Ocoee enjoyed his invention, the Mud Train, in parades and during Christmas Eve rides around town. In his last years, Faris loved mud bogging and was affectionately known as, “Grandpa Gone Wild”!
Faris is remembered by his children as being a loving father who was there for his family. When Jeni Lee was in labor with Trevor, Faris was at her side, rubbing her head and telling her how proud he was of her.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time.
