My calm uncle. I remember back when I was a kid around 6-7 years old when Grandma and Grandpa lived behind Minute Made Uncle George was still in Vietnam, I’d sneak into his doom and listen to his records. One I remember listening to was a song about The Red Baron and Snoopy. Grandma would catch me and tell me George would get mad if I scratched it. I couldn’t imagine Uncle George getting mad about anything. I think that’s what I’d miss the most about him. Sorry I never could find the time to see him life’s too busy anymore. Love you uncle George hope we can catch up on the other side.

I began my 30 + years in law enforcement at the Apopka Police Department in the early 1980’s. George was on my shift when I started and was a great mentor and friend. I learned a lot from George
during my time with A.P.D. and will always remember him as a true friend, kind, fair, and professional person. He was truly a dedicated police officer to the City of Apopka. Rest in Peace Brother.

I remember working at 711 and he would come in to get coffee and talk to me. Boy some of the story’s he would tell me. I would tell him “ I give it to you I couldn’t do your job oh no no!” But that is what I get for asking.. Then he retired and I was missing those story’s.. Rest easy Mr Smallwood. Prayers for Mrs Smallwood and family.
