Gerald Dunstan Smith, age 78, born August 22,1938 in Chicago, Illinois. Died July 10th in Huntsville, Alabama. He is survived by his children Shane (Teri) Smith and Cindy Crossen; his grandchildren Chad (Katie) Crossen, Chelsie Crossen and Maverick Smith; his great-granddaughter Ada Crossen and his sister Laura (Bill) Mollenhauer. He is predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Annette Smith; his parents Dibrell & Helen Smith and his brothers Charles and George Smith. He grew up in Oakland, Florida, was an engineer that worked for various aerospace firms, owned a roofing company and hardware store. In his own words, “was a jack of all trades, master of none”. Enjoyed spending his time fishing, boating, camping, deer hunting, NASCAR races, treasure hunting, eating (really slow), square dancing, football, wrestling, and most of all restoring classic cars. He loved his family and everyone knew that Annette was the love of his life.
Visitation will be from 10am to 11am on Wednesday, July 19th at Lockhart Baptist Church, with the memorial service to follow.
