Gerald (Jerry) G Avery, 81, of Apopka, Florida, passed away on May 28 2024. He was born on June 3 1942 to Flossie Haefele.
Jerry Avery was a beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Veteran, Sheet Metal Worker, International Union Organizer, Entrepreneur, and friend. He will be remembered for his life adventures, love for fishing, and commitment to his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Joyce Avery, his daughter Sherrie Avery Bayer, his granddaughters Shayna Bayer Hessling (Kurt Hessling) and Meghan Bayer (Paul Walker), and great grandchildren Laylah Hessling, Hendrix and Zeppelin Walker, and many others who will cherish his memory. He is proceeded in death by his mother Flossie Haefele, and his son Gerald (Jerry) L Avery.
A funeral service will be held on June 1 2024, 10am for visitation and the service starts at 11 am, at Loomis Funeral Home in Apopka Florida. Friends and family are invited to attend and pay their respects.

This heritage started 67 years ago with Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, who founded the First Baptist Church of Daytona Beach, Florida, in 1934. In 1938 Francis E. Loomis, son of Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, received his license to practice Mortuary Science and in 1941 established Loomis Funeral Home of Winter Garden, FL.
