Mr. Jack H. Douglas

Jack was born in a small family home in Fish Branch, Florida as the youngest of 12 kids to Edward and Laura Douglas. Eight of the ten brothers served during WWII in various branches of service. Jack enter the military in the Army Air Corp and upon completion of his tour of service he left the military to return to his home where he met up with a childhood classmate and his future wife Mary E. Brogan. After 90 days of looking for work and unable to find any he reentered the Military in the United States Air Force serving Texas, Alabama, Louisiana, Georgia and Montana, he also had stents in Iceland, and Guam. Because he served under flight status as a flight engineer he saw many different air bases based throughout the world. He completed his service in the missile maintenance field with his main concentration within the Minuteman Missile Program. During Jack’s service career to our country which included time served during WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He retired on July 31, 1970 with 24 years of service and a final rank in the Air Force of Master Chief Sargent (E9).

Mary and Jack settled in Orlando, Florida upon retirement from the Air Force and he went to work for the US Postal Service for about two years. Mary and Jack then opened their own real estate business in the Orlando area and they both worked together for about 20 years at which time they closed the doors and finally retired. Jack was a member of the Grand Lodge of Texas for 65 years. Jack loved Pine Castle Baptist Church and his fellow worshipers and friends. He also loved the great outdoors and enjoyed fishing on Lake Conway and his garden. As Jack got older he would ride his bicycle around the neighborhood on South Conway and later in his home in Errol Estates stopping to say hello to all the neighbors. They all knew when he wasn’t feeling well because they would not see him on his old rusted bike.

Mary and Jack three children Mark Douglas (deceased), Jack Douglas Jr. and Mary Daniels. They have five grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
