James Chapogas, 91, of Tavares, Florida passed away on January 15, 2022. Mr. Chapogas was born on August 12, 1930 in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. He is preceded in death by his brother Peter Chapogas. Mr. Chapogas is survived by his children William James Chapogas and Jamie Leigh Chapogas; grandchildren Christopher Michael Chapogas, Nicholas James Chapogas, William Alan Chapogas, Gina Marie Burns and Nico James Diaz as well as great grandchildren Mila Rose Chapogas and Harper Skye Chapogas.
This heritage started 67 years ago with Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, who founded the First Baptist Church of Daytona Beach, Florida, in 1934. In 1938 Francis E. Loomis, son of Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, received his license to practice Mortuary Science and in 1941 established Loomis Funeral Home of Winter Garden, FL.

I just read on Father’s Day, today that Papou had passed. My son Scott loved visiting him. They had great talks. They are in heaven having talks and laughs. Scott was waiting for him with a big smile, I’m sure.
