Nita Davis says
Dear Darlene, Kim, Tina, Tim, Jamie and all the Ferris family and friends,We have been so fortunate to have become friends over the years. Thank you Kim for introducing Bill and I to your family. Our hearts go out to you all. Your loss of a brother so early in his life is so difficult on a parent let alone siblings and children in your wonderful family. You are all in our prayers. We love all of you. Everyone stated their sentiment about Jim and we saw so much of his caring and loving spirit as well. He was a brave and loving soul and will be with Gary watching over all of you. Take those happy memories and build from those as blessings to have shared his life. Much love, prayers and peace in your hearts, Nita and Bill Davis

Bruce and Kathy Ferris says
Dear Darlene, Kim, Tina, Tim and Jamie, Our hearts ache with you. Each day Jim spent with us, especially after his heart transplant, displayed God’s bountiful grace. Please accept our deepest and dearest sympathy for you and your family. Know Kathy and I join many others in praying for each of you. We humbly ask Our Lord to carry you so only the footprints of the Lord’s nail-scarred feet will be seen upon the shores of your life. And may His beloved children on earth surround you with His everlasting love as those in heaven now surrounding Jimmy. We pray you sense the closeness of the Lord, His reassuring Love and the comfort only He can give to the broken-hearted. He will never leave you or forsake you through these shadows of death for the sting of our last enemy was removed from Jimmy the day he surrendered his life to Christ. In the Lord’s time, He will place your feet firmly on the shores of your life again and lead you on as you hold on to His outstretched hand. And through your brokenness, the Light of God’s Love will continue to shine as it did through Jim’s life to give the gift of Hope to others the Lord leads across your path. With Love, Bruce and Kathy Ferris

Jimmy,I remember all of us playing football, that was the best time because no one wanted a "Girl" on their team but you always chose me. Little did they know the name "Iron Head" that you gave me was for a good reason. We really showed them that you could win even with a girl on your team. I also enjoyed playing cards with you, win or lose. I know you fought so hard to give us another year and a half with you, it was a blessing. Now you are in heaven with Dad and my two baby girls that you didn't get to meet but don't be to rough on them. I will miss you forever and I know you are in a better place without hurting anymore.I Love you,Your Sis Tina

Jim, I'm sorry you had to fight so hard and so long. I will miss you, my first born. Thank you for that last smile, the sign I needed to know you were at peace. Now you are in heaven with your Dad and Grandfathers playing spades or playing pool. You can beat your Dad at spades but don't hold your breath when it comes to beating him in pool.I love you Jim, Mom
Kim Ewing says
I always knew Jimmy to be the life of the party; always making sure everyone was having a great time. When Jimmy lived on the east side of town, he had a party at least once a month; we were at his house playing volleyball in the pool. He also loved concerts especially at the House of Blues and Hard Rock Café. What I didn't realize is how much everyone at his work (Florida Hospital South/Security Officer) loved him so much. After his first heart attack, all the workers came to visit him and said that Jimmy was always so nice, cracking jokes, and he walked every floor to ensure they were safe. Everyone at Florida Hospital South deserves a special thank you from everyone in the Ferris Family; they took such good care of Jimmy and we will never forget it. I'm so happy that Jimmy was able to spend time (16 months) with my son, Kameron. Kameron was not able to meet his grandfather, Gary Ferris. Jimmy's favorite holiday is Halloween which is coming up in a few weeks, so please light a candle. Jimmy, you are my older brother and I always looked up to you in many ways. Please take care of Dad upstairs and tell him how much we miss him. Mom is not going to handle all of this sadness, so please watch over us!!! I love you so much. Your sister, Kim

Jimmy and I met in 1993. Imagine this scenario. Spanish, long hair, tatoos and heavy heavy spanish accent, started to date his sister who was 10 years younger! ! Enough to tell me off and not welcome me into the family right!? but all he whispers to me was "As long as you make my sister happy you and me will always be good" From that day on untill the they he left this world, we remain more than good, we were brothers untill death do us apart. God bless my friend, my brother

Our deepest condolences go out to the entire Ferris and Ewing families for the lose of a wonderful son, brother and father. Jerry and I will always remember all the parties and fun we shared with Jimmy and will leave a lasting impression in our hearts -as he was so loving, caring and giving. The most remembered event Jimmy and I shared and I will never forget was on Dec. 26, 2011 right after my back surgery when he came to my room to see me and was bossing the nurses around to do more for me, and he helped me in their absence. I will always be thankful to him for that and my husband Jerry will always appreciate what he did for me that night and during my stay. Only a true friend will do things like that for each other. Jimmy you will be greatly missed and know that we loved and admired you very much. Love always, Jerry & Barbara Reimer
Jaime Ferris says
Dad, you were the best father I could ever ask for. You taught me the things I needed to become the woman I am today. You always offered wise advice and helped me understand the world around me as I grew up. You showed me how to be tough and to stand up for myself and what I believe in. you showed me to stay strong when times get tough and to never give up. Whenever I would get upset and say “I can’t do it” you would say “Cant never could”. Which has taught me that if there’s a will, there’s a way. You taught me to be a peace keeper to all of those around me and to help others whenever I could. I was always the shadow by your side, eager to learn and do what you did. I will always remember your ways and use them to guide me further in life. I will always be a daddy’s girl and live by the rules you believed in. I will make you even more proud and then some. Dad, you had more strength than anyone I’ve ever known. You fought with the might of a dragon, the intense fire burning within fueled you with the strength you needed. I will forever love you and never forget your ways. I love you infinitely Daddy.
