James Richard Damron, 86, of Winter Garden, Florida passed away on October 04, 2024. Mr. Damron was born on December 14, 1937 in Winter Garden, Florida. Mr. Damron is survived by his loving wife Sharon L. Damron; children Jaymi Damron, Jim-Bo Danron, Scott Weidl, Stacey Weidl and Brett Weidl; as well as his grandchildren Noah Damron, Ethan Cashwell, Aiden Weidl, Addison Weidl, Alanna Weidl, Grayson Weidl, Blake Weidl, Jake Botyos, Ryan Botyos and Colin Botyos. He will be dearly missed by his many loved ones and friends.
This heritage started 67 years ago with Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, who founded the First Baptist Church of Daytona Beach, Florida, in 1934. In 1938 Francis E. Loomis, son of Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, received his license to practice Mortuary Science and in 1941 established Loomis Funeral Home of Winter Garden, FL.

Dickie was a great friend to all Johns Creek High School students when we graduated in 1956, great athlete in high school and Pikeville College, graduating about 1960, playing for PC when they were winning NAIA basketball championship. We knew he would go on to bigger and better coaching, teaching, and administrative positions. We loved you Dickie.
