Jerry C. Smith, 79, of Apopka, Florida, passed away June 07, 2017. He was born January 04, 1938 in Greenup, Kentucky. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents Ellis Smith, and Beulah Smith, son Jerry Smith II, and his sister Betty Gilliam. He is survived by his loving wife Frances Smith; children Leslie (Randy) Smith Barnes, Scott (Denise) McDaniel; siblings Pauline Bowling, Barbara Adams, Joan (Frank) Vance; grandchildren Garret Barnes, Ashton Barnes,Sam McDaniel, Ben McDaniel, Lauren McDaniel; great grandchildren Braylyn Pirillo, Capriana Pirillo, Ansley Pirillo, Bristol Barnes.

This heritage started 67 years ago with Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, who founded the First Baptist Church of Daytona Beach, Florida, in 1934. In 1938 Francis E. Loomis, son of Pastor Herbert F. Loomis, received his license to practice Mortuary Science and in 1941 established Loomis Funeral Home of Winter Garden, FL.
