Joe Luis Gaston

Apopka – Joe Luis Gaston, age 56, passed away on Thursday, June 10, 2021, at his home in Apopka, after a valiant battle with cancer, with his loving wife and daughter by his side. Joe was born on January 3, 1965, in Brooklyn, New York to Dorothy Almadover and Luis Raphael Gaston.
Joe had a love of music. He loved music so much it became a tremendous part of his life. He began deejaying and became known as DJ Joe Paradise. He played many parties and gatherings, and continued to play and share his love for music virtually all through his fight with cancer.
As a young man, Joe met and fell in love with Carmen Ramos. Together they had three children: Joe Gaston Jr, Amanda Ramos, and Michael Ramos. They eventually separated but remained friends. Joe later met and married Denise Putnam, and they had a daughter, Gabrielle.
Joe is survived by his wife Denise; son Joe and his children Omar, Joe, and Samuel Gaston; daughter Amanda and her son, Elijah Niko Ramos-McDowell; son Michael (Rita Pena); daughter Gabrielle Gaston; nieces Doris, Christina, and Jennifer Almadover; and numerous cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Dorothy and Luis, and his sister Rosemary.
Per Joe’s wishes, there will not be a funeral but an intimate family gathering celebration of life. For friends who wish to honor Joe, memorials and well wishes may be made to the family at their home in Apopka.
