Mr. Joe William Dixon, 77, of Apopka, FL, passed away July 14, 2014, surrounded by his family. He grew up in College Park, an Eagle Scout, '55 graduate of Edgewater High followed by 4 years in the US Navy. He was a master electrician, giving generously of his service well into retirement. He loved his church family at First UMC, Apopka, and enjoyed various clubs: Methodist Men, Orange Co. Ol' Timers Men's Club, NOCIA, & Central FL Woodturners. Survived by his wife of 56 years, Louise; son David & wife Sherri, daughter Nancy & husband Lin; 5 grandchildren he adored – Davey, Daniel, Ashley, Sophie & Jeremy. Funeral services will be 2 PM, Sat., July 19, with 1 PM visitation at First UMC, Apopka, 201 South Park Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated to the Joe Dixon Memorial Youth Camp Fund, c/o & payable to First UMC.
